Feminism as a Resistance
This forward-thinking talk addresses growth and failing economic systems from a feminist perspective. Lebohang Liepollo Pheko, a senior policy research fellow at an Afrikan activist feminist think tank, will lead us through an enlightening talk on feminism as the best way to respond to exploitive global economies that are continuities of colonial logic by reframing communities and shared wellbeing with a feminist lens.
The talk will be moderated by feminist economic historian and renowned speaker Emma Holten.
Lebohang Liepollo Pheko is a senior policy research fellow at the Afrikan activist feminist think tank, Trade Collective. Lebohang has over 25 years of experience within the private, public, and development sectors across the globe. Her work pushes forward the use of systems thinking and innovative tools to find Afrika-centered and feminist-aligned solutions to generate a sustainable global impact.
